Capital Campaign Update!

With the support of hundreds of donors, we have completed the first phase of our Capital Campaign! We were able to complete the construction in time for camp 2011, and our students loved the changes that these improvements brought. Below are some photos of the new space…

  • Phase 1 ($92,500, was completed for 2011 camp): 2,000 square foot expansion of our dining hall and corporate meeting venue that will double the number of campers we can feed from 75 to 150 and double our indoor meeting capacity from 110 to 220

Now we will press on towards our second Capital Campaign goal…

  • Phase 2 ($112,500): 6,000 square foot covered pavilion and outdoor meeting venue that will house our basketball and extreme sports program; boat slips; zip lines

Capital Campaign Launched!

Based upon the growth and needs of the camp, our Board initiated our first capital campaign in over 5 years to expand our facility.  Our goal is to raise $1.2 million dollars over the next 3 years, 11% of which will subsidize operations.  Our phases are outlined as follows:

  • Phase 1 ($92,500, needs to be completed for 2011 camp): 2,000 square foot expansion of our dining hall and corporate meeting venue that will double the number of campers we can feed from 75 to 150 and double our indoor meeting capacity from 110 to 220
  • Phase 2 ($112,500): 6,000 square foot covered pavilion and outdoor meeting venue that will house our basketball and extreme sports program; boat slips; zip lines
  • Phase 3 ($112,500): 2 acre recreational lake behind our tree-houses (cabins) complete with beach, sand volleyball, blob, water slide, giant swing and paddle boats; climbing and rappelling wall; lights for the sports fields; outdoor classrooms
  • Phase 4 ($385,000): Gymnasium that will also serve as a corporate meeting space
  • Phase 5 ($370,000): Staff lodging for 40; tennis courts that may also be utilized for roller hockey, dodge ball and basketball; skate park expansion

We anticipate that these additions could pay for themselves over the course of the next few years through the heightened interest in our retreat center and lead us one step closer to becoming a self-sufficient ministry.  More importantly, we envision these additions to our facility improving our ability to more effectively unite hundreds of youth each summer.  Click here if you would like to donate now

RARE SUMMER OPPORTUNITY & FALL RETREATS

Barefoot has a rare summer opportunity to rent our facility!  Due to a cancellation, we now have the week of June 19th-June 25th available! We also have availability the month of August which would be great for those planning a back to school retreat.  Please let us know if you are interested and consider sharing this opportunity with your friends by clicking the “Share This” link above.

Also, this is a great time to book your Fall and Winter retreats, as our calendar begins to fill up now. Please click  facility rentals to learn more!

FACILITY EXPANSION & 10% DISCOUNT
Barefoot is prayerfully attempting to expand our existing multipurpose building prior to June 1st!  The addition will nearly double the size of our cafeteria and corporate meeting venue downstairs.  We’ve also included the addition of a recreational lake with blob and zip line and a 6,000 square foot pavilion for basketball, skateboarding and an outdoor venue in the first phase of our capital campaign.
Would your organization consider partnering with Barefoot’s capital campaign? We’ve designed a win-win strategy for our partners to help improve our facilities and experience for all.  If your organization will consider making a one-time gift to our capital campaign, Barefoot will give it right back to you in the form of a 10% discount on your future retreats.  Please email Tommy at trhodes@barefootrepublic.org or call 615-599-9683 for details.
